Saint Mina was born in Egypt in the second half of the 3rd century, from a Christian family. Becoming orphan, he takes upon an early military career. He dies young, refusing to give up the Christian belief. In the Orthodox calendar he is celebrated on 11th November, and in the Catholic one on 24th November. He is known as the protector of those harmed, of those in trouble and sick. He is the Saint of the truth, who makes the people full of gratitude.
Saint Pantelimon is of Asian origin (first half of the 3rd century). He is raised in Christian spirit hidden by his mother, his father being the king’s servant, gods worshipper. He becomes doctor at the king’s court and apprentice, but in secret, of the Christian Priest Ermolae. From the latter he learnt that he must have faith when he heals, a faith full of love. He is celebrated on 27th July, and Saint Ermolae on 26th July, both being protectors of those sick
It is about a wooden church, bearing the style from Maramures, which brings on the lands of Dobrogea an ancient Romanian tradition, that of the wood. The church was raised on a field given by Mangalia Town Hall. The church place was sanctified on 4th March 2006, the foundation construction started in the next following months, and the church made of wood started to be set on 1st May 2007, and on 1st June 2007 being completely finished...
The wood churches distinguish from the others by the wooden joining technique and by the making of the shingle covering.
